Ministry of Education Orders Cancellation of UGC

On June 18, 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) held the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in OMR (pen and paper) mode across various cities in India in two shifts.

The next day, on June 19, 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) received information from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. This information suggested potential integrity issues with the examination.

In response, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination to uphold the highest standards of transparency and integrity. A new examination will be scheduled, with details to be provided later. Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will thoroughly investigate the matter.

Candidates affected by this cancellation are advised to stay updated through official announcements from the NTA and UGC regarding the new examination dates and further instructions. The authorities are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process for all examinees.
