1 Custom Story Expiration

As a free user, the Snaps we add to My Story are automatically removed after 24 hours. With a Snapchat+ subscription, I can manage when my Snaps expire using the My Story Timer. I can set the expiry time from a few hours up to a whole week. This allows me to keep important stories for more than 24 hours and keep some of them for just a few hours.

To set a timer for the Snaps you post on My Story, follow these steps:

  1. Take a Snap as you normally do and tap Send To.
  2. Select My Story – Friends Only as the location you want to send your Snaps to.
  3. Tap the timer button that appears on the screen and select how long you want the Snap to stay on My Story.

2 Story Timestamps

I always wanted to see the exact time my friends view my stories and Snapchat+ made this possible for me with its Story Timestamps feature. Right where Snapchat lists my friends who have seen my story, the timestamp of when each friend saw it appears under their name.

3 Priority Story Replies

As a Snapchat+ subscriber, my replies to Public Stories from my favorite creators are prioritized above those from non-subscribers. This increases the chances of my favorite creator seeing and responding to my comments.

When I post my reply, I see a golden ring around the reply box, showing that I’m commenting as a Snapchat+ subscriber.

4 Story Rewatch Indicator

The Story Rewatch Indicator lets me see how many of my friends rewatch the Snaps I post to my stories. This lets me track which of my stories are engaging and get rewatched the most. However, I can’t check which specific friend has watched my story more than once.

This feature was turned off by default, so I had to enable it. If you want to use this feature, go to your profile, tap on Snapchat+, find the Story Rewatch Count, and turn on the toggle.

The next time someone rewatches your story, you’ll see a double-eyes emoji along with the number of friends who have rewatched it, in addition to the list of friends who have watched your story once (represented by an eye symbol), which you can see even with the free plan.

5 Snapstreak Reminder

One of the most important things I care about is not losing my streaks with friends. As a premium subscriber, Snapchat reminds me an hour before a Snapstreak is about to expire, giving me time to send a Snap and keep the streak going. This way, I don’t lose the streak and I don’t have to recover the lost Snapstreak.

To turn on this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Tap on your profile icon and navigate to Snapchat+.
  2. Locate and tap on Snapstreak Reminders.
  3. Turn on reminders for the streaks you want to get notified about.

6 Solar System

I have many friends on Snapchat, but am I one of the people my friends interact with the most? The Snapchat Planets feature lets me check that. If I’m among the top eight people my friend interacts with the most, Snapchat assigns me a planet in my friend’s solar system based on the frequency of our interactions with each other.

If I’m the person my friend interacts with the most, I’m placed on the Mercury planet in my friend’s solar system. If I’m on Venus, I’m the second person my friend interacts with the most, and so on. To learn more about how this feature works, how to enable it, and how to check your position, check out our detailed coverage of the Snapchat Planets feature.

7 Custom Notification Sound

What if you could know which friend has sent you a Snap or a text message just by the sound of the notification? Snapchat’s custom notification sound feature made this possible for me. It allows me to assign a custom notification sound for a friend or group chat, which plays whenever I receive a new notification from them.

To set up a custom notification sound, follow these steps:

  1. Tap on your profile icon and go to the Snapchat+.
  2. Open Custom Notification Sounds.
  3. Select a friend or group you want to set a custom notification for.
  4. Choose a custom sound from the available list.

Unless you’ve paused or disabled Snapchat notifications, you’ll hear your selected sound the next time you receive a notification from that friend.

8 Replay Again

As a free user, I used to only view a snap of my friend once. However, Snapchat+ lets me view a Snap two additional times.

To replay a snap, here’s what you need to do:

  1. After viewing the Snap from your friend for the first time, tap and hold on to your friend’s name to reload the Snap.
  2. Then, tap on the Snap to view it again.
  3. Once you’re done viewing it, tap and hold on to your friend’s name again to reload it for the second replay.

If you’re viewing the Snap within a chat, you’ll see an option that says Hold to replay again or save. Tap and hold on to it, then select Replay to reload the Snap. Watch it again, and if you want to, repeat the process one more time for a second replay.

9 Bitmoji Backgrounds

With a Snapchat+ subscription, I gain exclusive access to premium backgrounds for my Snapchat Bitmoji. These special designs make my friends ask, “Where did you get that background from?”

To use a custom background, follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Tap the background icon in your 3D Bitmoji header and tap Pose and Background.
  3. Choose the exclusive background you like the most.
  4. Tap Save.

10 Snapscore Change

Another handy feature exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers is the Snapscore Change. This feature allows me to see how much a friend’s Snapscore has increased since I last checked, helping me gauge how active my friends are on the platform.

To check the Snapscore change, follow these steps:

  1. Open your friend’s Friendship Profile.
  2. Tap on your friend’s Snapscore.
  3. Snapchat will then display the Snapscore change since the last time you checked it.

These Snapchat+ features can greatly improve your experience on the platform. If you’ve never tried a Snapchat premium subscription before, it’s definitely worth considering.
